SUMMARY

While AJ helps the local Carabinieri in Rumo, Italy investigate two murders, he is forced into a higher gear when his family member is kidnapped by the killer.

PREFACE

After months on administrative leave battling flashbacks of her murder, detective AJ Conti searches for peace visiting relatives in Rumo, Italy. He befriends the newest of three local Carabinieri as a chemistry builds between AJ and a local coffee shop owner.

Shorthanded from recent terrorist bombings, the Carabinieri bring AJ in as a consultant after a second dead girl's body surfaces. AJ meets his cousin' daughter, Marina, and when one of the bodies turns out to be her best friend, Marina follows the man she believes is the killer to gather evidence before going to the Carabinieri.

When she witnesses his brutal attack on another woman, Marina sends a text to AJ before the phone goes dead. Left with few clues, AJ is forced to trust his instincts before history repeats itself.
